Best words spoken to me in a long time.
I am all good, Internet!
Jen and I met for lunch. I did have two glasses of wine. (I took the afternoon off, obviously) We went to the place. My phone rings. It's Sarah, and she is a WRECK because she has had an awful orthodontist appointment. I get called back in the middle of that conversation.
Needless to say, the appointment didn't start all that well.
My right breast was the culprit. The tech took three or four images of it and then I went out to wait, with Jen. Side bar: We both laughed when I was told to put on the "floral cape." Another side bar: It bothered me that everything was pink.
Then the tech called me back into the room and Jen and I looked at each other wide-eyed. But that's when she said the magic words: Overlapping tissue.
And even more magical? "You're free to go."
So? I bought a pair of boots. I mean, of course I did. A pair of black, Old Gringo cowboy boots. I love them. They are fabulous. Then we went to Guero's for margaritas, high on a clean bill of health, a few glasses of wine, and boots. The Chief met us there eventually.
I am breathing easy for the first time since I opened that letter. I am grateful for my health. I need to take better care of this body. When Kris died, I said to myself that I would, because she would have traded absolutely anything for her health. I had lost of sight of that. No more.
Thanks for listening and being so supportive. We will now return to our regularly scheduled programming.
